Before you clock on, or after you get home. Both are normal here.
Loaded and away before you clock on
A first-light start, so the load is on the vehicle before your working day begins. Common among households working airport and warehouse earlies, and much easier on the roads than anything starting later.
What it involves →Starting when you get home
An evening move, beginning when you are back and finishing under lights. Not the cheapest way to do it and sometimes the only way that fits, particularly on a tenancy handover during a working week.
What it involves →A weekend, or a weekday you are not in the house for.
Saturday and Sunday moves
The obvious answer and the one everybody wants, which is why the slots go first. Book early, and tell us if the building restricts weekend moves — a good many managed blocks around here do.
What it involves →Keys, a plan and a photo record
A move that happens without you standing in it. Keys, a named contact on the phone, a marked-up plan agreed beforehand and a photographed record at both ends. It works well and it has firm limits.
What it involves →A gap in a rota rather than a cleared day.
Rooms, part-loads, single items
A van and two crew for a room, a part-load or one heavy thing. The most flexible booking we take, and the one that fits into a gap in a rota rather than needing a whole day cleared.
What it involves →Listed at collection, held
Goods collected, inventoried at the property and held. On a shift pattern the two dates almost never meet cleanly, and holding is what turns two impossible days into one workable one.
What it involves →Five things. The measured volume, taken with a tape. The access at both ends. How much packing you want. Whether anything is being held. And the hour the work has to happen at.
That last one is stated on the quotation before you book rather than appearing afterwards. Quoting a daytime rate and revising it once somebody says when they need you is the single most common complaint about firms advertising flexibility, and it is not how this works.
